The Problem
With time the tissue of the face begins to descent, changing the shape from where the cheek bones are full and wide to where the lower face and jaw becomes full and wide. The skin also loses a great deal of elasticity and begins to sag downwards along with the deeper tissues.

The Procedure
A face and neck lift can effectively lift the sagging tissues of the face and neck back into place. The incisions for the procedure are well-designed and hidden in the natural creases around the ear. Additionally, if neck tightening is desired, the incision will be hidden under the chin. After the incisions are made, the deeper tissues of the face and be safely repositioned into a more youthful appearance. The skin is then gently re-draped in a natural fashion without creating a pulled or “face-lifted” look. The entire procedure may last between 2-5 hours depending on the degree of facial laxity and whether additional procedures will be combined. The procedure can be done under general anesthesia, twilight anesthesia or sometimes in the office under local anesthesia.
Recovery
Recovery will vary depending on the type of procedure you have, however, most patients will need from 1-2 weeks to recover. During this time you will be able to perform most daily activities as long as they do not involve strenuous activity or heavy lifting.
